Popcap Whacks 40, Says Report

Seattle-based casual games maker Popcap Games, which is now owned by EA, has laid off as many as 40 employees, as part of a cutback at the game studio. The layoffs were first reported by gaming industry publication Kotaku. PopCap provided a statement to Kotaku saying the moves "in order to stay on course with our future plans for mobile games, live services, and new IP."
