Ignition Partners' Ludwig Steps Away
John Ludwig, former Founding Partner of Ignition Partners, announced Monday that he has left the firm, to begin the "next phase of my professional life". Ludwig had been at Ignition Partners for more than 13 years. Ludwig said that the move was amicable, but that he had made no new investments in the last couple of years, was not part of the current fund, and was not currently on any board seats. Ludwig also said that he was "frustrated with the venture model, uninspired about the nature of the work, and too often thinking that I was on the wrong side of the table". Ludwig had previously been at Microsoft, and had been involved in Ignition's investments in Fat Spaniel, Avogadro, Wildseed, and Pure Networks.
