Jive Software Eyed For Takeover, Says Report

Jive Software, the developer of enterprise collaboration and social software, is being eyed by a number of companies as a takeover candidate, according to a report today. The Portland Business Journal says that IBM or Oracle Corp. have been named as possible bidders for Jive, which recently was passed over by SAP in an acquisition. The move by SAP to potentially buy Jive was reported by Bloomberg News. Jive is based in Silicon Valley, but still has a significant number of employees in Portland, where it was founded.
