Itron Extends Reach In Brazil

Liberty Lake-based smart utility meter developer Itron has extended its reach in Brazil today, announcing a strategic alliance with Brazilian technology firm Choice. Itron said the companies will integrate and jointly market a smart grid product around the world, with a focus on Brazil. The solution reolves around "non-technical loss"--the industry's term for electricity theft. The companies said their joint solution will help utilities quickly and effectively identify and recover electricity losses.
