Bing Links Into Encyclopedia Brittanica

In an expansion of the search engine's links to detailed, third party information providers, Bing said Thursday that it has partnered with Encyclopedia Brittanica to include Britannica Online's answers directly in the Bing results page. The partnership pulls up a quick overview of a subject, thumbnails, and useful facts and figures for certain searches on the search engine. The enhancement is part of a strategic shift by Bing to incorporate third party information sources into the search engine in a number of vertical areas, including event tickets, hotels, travel, and more. Details on the financial arrangement between Bing and Encyclopedia Brittanica were not announced.
