Ignition Backs Cloudera

Seattle-based venture capital firm Ignition Partners is the lead on the investment in a Silicon Valley developer of "big data" software. According to Burlingame, California-based Cloudera, it just received $40M in a Series D round, led by Frank Artale of Ignition Partners. Cloudera's other backers are Accel Partners, Greylock Partners, Meritech Capital Partners and In-Q-Tel. Artale pointed to Cloudera's "clear leadership" in its industry, as driving the investment.
