Amazon Launches Kindle Lending Library

Seattle-based Amazon.com is looking to put the world's libraries out of business today, as it launched the Kindle Lending Library, a new service which allows Amazon Prime users to borrow thousands of books, for free, from a library of over 5000 titles. According to Kindle, users of its Prime service will be able to borrow one book a month--with no due dates--for reading on the Kindle. The books will not be readable on the Kindle apps on other devices. Books will be checked out for as long as a user likes, but they have to be returned before borrowing another title.
