Microsoft, SUSE Extend $100M Linux Support Deal
Microsoft and SUSE, the Linux operating system unit of Attachmate, said today that they have agreed to a four-year extension of a deal where the two will cooperate on Windows and Linux interoperatibility and support. The deal is based on a deal that Microsoft and Novell agreed to where Microsoft and SUSE agreed to provide patent coverage to each other over LInux patents. Microsoft said it would invest $100M in new SUSE Linux Enterprise certificates as part of the extension.
