Decide.com Launches Consumer Electronics Pricing Service
Seattle-based Decide said today that it has officially launched its service, an online service which looks to help consumers predict when to purchase electronic items. The firm--whose CEO is former Farecast exec Mike Fridgen, and which was co-founded by notable Seattle entrepreneur and academic Oren Etzioni--said it is using a proprietary, 60-terabyte database of historical pricing to help electronic shoppers decide when to buy a product. The firm announced a $6M, Series B in April from Madrona Ventures, Maveron, and a list of well known angel investors. The firm's founders were behind Farecast, which similarly predicted pricing for airline fares.
