Amazon EC2 Used In Sony Hack, Says Reports
Amazon.com's cloud services were used as part of the massive hacking of the Sony PlayStation Network, according to a report from Bloomberg News. Citing un-named sources, Bloomberg said that attackers rented servers from Amazon EC2 service as part of its massive attack, which siphoned off names, email addresses, contact information, credit card information, and other payment information from Sony. That hack also resulted in Sony taking the service offline for almost a month.
