Bing Forecasts Summer Airfare, Hotel Increases

Search engine Bing is predicting that both airfares and hotel prices will both rise this summer, due to capacity cuts and fuel costs. Bing said it predicts that airfare will be up 15 percent, with tickets averaging $561, up from $485 last summer; the firm expects summer hotel costs to rise more than 7 percent, with an average cost of $242 versus $227 last year. The firm blamed the cuts in flights by airlines, and rising oil prices for the expected rise in airfares.
