Parallels Names Microsoft Vet Steen As CEO
Renton, Washington-based Parallels, which develops desktop virtualization software which allows Mac users to run Windows, said today that it has named Birger Steen as CEO. Steen was most recently President of the company, and had previously been at Microsoft. Steen replaces parallels founder Serguei Beloussov, who will become Chairman of the Board and Chief Architect. The firm said Steen will be responsible for all day-to-day execution including engineering sales, partner relationships, support, marketing and deployment services. Steen was previously Vice President of Small and Medium Business and Distribution at Microsoft before joining Parallels.
