Amazon Releases New iPhone Comparison Shopping App

Seattle-based Amazon.com said today that it has released a new, price comparison application for the iPhone, which will allow users to compare in-store prices from Amazon.com and other online merchants. According to Amazon, the Price Check by Amazon for iPhone app allows users to scan a barcode on an item, snap a photo of things such as books, DVDs, CDs, and video games; speak a product name, or type in a search for an item. Amazon said the new software is free.
