PopCap Ties With TAITO On Japanese Game Service

Seattle-based PopCap Games, the developer of casual and social game titles, said today that it has inked a deal with Japanese firm TAITO Corporation, to launch a new dedicated, mobile social game service in Japan. The companies said the new service--Pop Tower--will be launched in Japan early next year. TAITO is a subsidiary of Square Enix Holdings Co. Ltd. According to the two companies, the new online game service will include such titles as Bejeweled, Chuzzle, and Zuma, and also in-game virtual goods, and premium services. PopCap said the new game service will be the first for the firm's Tokyo office.
