Doxo Signs Sprint

Seattle-based Doxo, the startup developing online paperless billing services headed by Steve Shivers, has signed its first major customer, Sprint. Sprint, the wireless carrier, said today that is has launched a new, paperless billing solution for its customers through a partnership with doxo. Sprint said that customers can receive their Sprint bills directly in Doxo, and can receive, manage, and file those bills alongside bills from other companies. Financial details of the win were not disclosed.

Sprint said the move was part of its paper reduction goals, and specifically an effort to reduce its paper consumption by 30 percent by 2017. Doxo is looking to aggregate enough household bills, statements, and other information to convince users to not only pay their bills electronically, but also receive them electronically too. The firm is targeting the large proportion of online bill payers who--despite using online bill payment--still insist on receiving paper bills via the mail. Doxo is venture backed by Mohr Davidow Ventures and Bezos Expeditions.
