ClearEdge Power Bolsters Exec Team

Portland-based ClearEdge Power, which is developing energy equipment which converts natural gas to electricity and heat, said today that it has named Dane C. Smith as Senior Vice President of Sales, Marketing, and Business Development. Smith was most recently at VMware, where he served as Vice President and General Manager for the Americas for five years. ClearEdge claimed that Smith grew VMware's business in the Americas from less than $200M to approximately $1 billion, and was part of the exec team during VMware's IPO.
