Clearwire Expands in Oregon, Washington, California, and New York

In the firm's latest buildout of its network, Clearwire said late Wednesday evening that it has expanded its service into Eugene, Oregon; Yakima and the Tri-Cities, Washington; Merced and Visalia, California; and Rochester and Syracuse, New York. According to Clearwire, the Eugene, Oregon expansion adds coverage of 105 square miles and more than 75,000 people; In Yakima, about 650 square miles and more than 137,000 people. In Rochester and Syracuse, the firm adds 560 square miles covering more than 600,000 people; and in Merced and Visalia, California nearly 580 square miles and more than 180,000 people. The network expansion is the second set of markets launched this week, following new service in Utah, Missouri, and Virginia.
