Amazon To Release Kindle For Android
Seattle-based Amazon.com said Monday evening that it will be making a version of its Kindle application available on the Android mobile operating system available sometime this summer. Like the firm's iPhone and Blackberry version of the Kindle app, the new Android application will be free to download. Amazon said the new software will provides access to all of the books available in the Kindle Store, and also will include its Whispersync technology which synchronizes bookmarks across all of the firm's various readers. Exact release date was not disclosed by the firm, which already provides iPhone, iPod touch, iPad, PC, Mac, and BlackBerry software for Kindle books, in addition to Amazon's own Kindle readers.
