Amazon Up After Apple's iPad Launch
Trading of Seattle-based Amazon was up Thursday morning, opening at $124.46, above the firm's close of $122.75 per share, after Wednesday's much awaited launch of Apple's iPad tablet computing device. Apple's iPad--which has been eyed as a possible "Kindle Killer"--boasts a 9.7-inch display, touch sensitivity, and iPhone OS support. The new tablet also runs all existing Apple iPhone/iPod Touch applications, including Amazon's own Kindle Reader for iPhone application.
