Amazon.com Snags Author Stephen Covey In Exclusive Deal

Amazon.com has snagged bestselling author Stephen Covey, author of "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People," in an exclusive deal, Amazon and Covey's firm, FranklinCovey, announced late Monday. According to the two firms, Stephen Covey has signed an exclusive deal to make his titles "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People" and "Principle-Centered Leadership" available only on Amazon's Kindle device, exclusively through Amazon's Kindle store. The deal is notable because it cuts out other, non-Amazon electronic readers, as well as Covey's own print publisher, Simon & Schuster. According to Amazon and FranklinCovey, it is offering the two titles from Covey for $7.99 each, and will be offering other Covey books for download in the future. No financial terms of the deal were announced.
