Dendreon Names COO

Seattle-based biotech Dendreon said Thursday that it has named Hans Bishop as the firm's Chief Operating Officer. Bishop joins the company from Bayer, where he was president of that firm's specialty medicine business. Dendreon said that Bishop will be responsible for preparing for, and leading the commercial launch of its PROVENGE compound. Bishop has also served at Bayer HealthCare, Chiron, and Glaxo Wellcome and SmithKline Beecham.
