Imperium Shuts Biodiesel Plant After Accident
Seattle-based biodiesel producer Imperium Renewables reported Thursday afternoon that it has shut its Grays Harbor biodiesel plant after a rupture in a glycerin processing tank in the facility. The accident, which occurred at approximately 2:30p.m., did not cause any injuries. The firm said the factory would remain shut down until it determines the extent of damage to the plant. So far, the firm said the rupture--a result of over-pressurization of the tank--also damaged nearby pipes and a biodiesel and sulfuric acid tank.
