Amazon.com Looks For Textbook Trade-Ins

Seattle-based Amazon.com is getting into the textbook trade-in market, saying this morning that it has launched a new Textbooks Trade-In program. Amazon said it would accept exchange of textbooks from customers, in return for an Amazon.com gift card. The program--which are purchased by an un-named, third party merchant--asks customers to submit the ISBN and other information for textbooks, and then provides a trade in value for those books. Customers are then given a free shipping label to return the book for Amazon.com credit. Amazon said it will offer the trade-in program year round.
