Microsoft Enhances Bing Maps
Microsoft said today that it has enhanced its Bing Maps feature on its site, adding such features as draggable routes, a new "zoom bar", command parsing, and easier embedding to the mapping software. In addition, Microsoft said it has distributed computing power for the service across 7 locations worldwide to accelerate access to the service based on a user's physical location, as well as a number of new navigation features. The new features catch Microsoft up to a number of similar features from competitor Google Maps, in particular in the area of draggable routes and maps.
