Smilebox Buys Preclick
Redmond-based Smilebox, which operates a service for consumers to create digital scrapbooks, photo albums, and greeting cards, said today that it has acquired the technology assets, intellectual property, relationships, and retail contracts of Preclick, a developer of software for photo retailers. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Smilebox said that Preclick provides sofware to such firms as Walmart, Costco, Walgreens, Sam's Club, and Meijers. Preclick makes "print-to-retail" software used by consumers to create projects and print them to local retailers. Smilebox said it will add that capability into its platform.
