Clearwire Taps Huawei For WiMAX Equipment
Kirkland-based Clearwire Communications reports today that the firm has added Huawei as a supplier of WiMAX equipment, and will use the firm for base stations, element management system components, and other related network hardware and software. Clearwire is already using hardware from Motorola, Samsung, Cisco, Ciena, and DragonWave in its network build out. Clearwire said Huawei's WiMAX equipment will be used to facilitate its rollout of CLEAR across the United States. Clearwire is deploying a WiMAX-based, national wireless network.
