iovation Sued By Boise Firm
Portland-based iovation is being sued by a Boise, Idaho firm, Kount, over patents that Kount claims are being infringed upon in iovation's ReputationManager, Device Reputation Authority, and ReputationShield products. According to Kount, a competing provider of fraud detection software, it is looking for injunctive relief as well as unspecified damages from iovation for infringing on Kount's device fingerprinting and proxy piercing fraud control technologies. Kount claims that its patent--U.S. Patent number 7,330,871, issued in February 12, 2008--covers methods for detecting fraud online. Iovation is a developer of software for finding fraudulent computers and accounts.
