Earth Class Mail Finalizes Deal With Swiss Post

Seattle-based Earth Class Mail announced Wednesday afternoon that the firm has inked a deal with Swiss Post, the government-owned postal operator of Switzerland, where Swiss Post will license its Internet-powered postal mail delivery platform. Earth Class Mail had originally announced a deal with Swiss Post in October. According to Earth Class Mail, Swiss Post will license its Internet-based postal mail delivery platform for deployment in Switzerland, Germany, France, Austria, Italy and Lichtenstein, plus 10 additional European countries, Asia, and North America. Financial impact of the deal was not disclosed. The news comes shortly after a report that Earth Class Mail is looking to sell off its retail operations and focus entirely on technology licensing. The firm said today that it may transfer its own U.S. retail operations to a partner, as is "in talks" with several potential partners in the U.S.
