Marchex Reorganizes, Chops Employees

Seattle-based online advertising firm Marchex said Friday that the firm is eliminating 15 full time positions, or about 4 percent of the company's staff, as part of a restructuring. The firm said that it has shuffled its executives and organization, by moving the firm's sales, business development, customer and partner management, and product engineering teams into a single operational organization. Marchex had a number of independent teams as a result of different businesses and acquisitions over the last few years. Marchex said that the move would eliminate redundancies at the firm. Among executive changes, the firm said that Peter Christothoulou will become Chief Operating Officer, and Matthew Berk will become Executive Vice President of Product Engneering.
