MathStar Assets Up For Sale
The technology and intellectual property behind defunct fabless semiconductor manufacturer MathStar Inc. is now ready for sale, an investment banking firm announced Monday. Headquartered in Hillsboro, Ore., MathStar developed semiconductors used for processing arithmetic and logic operations. But the company suspended production nearly a year ago—in May 2008—and then retained Core Capital's Electronics and Semiconductor Group in September to assist the firm with its strategic options. According to Core Capital, the latest version of MathStar's Field Programmable Object Array technology—the Arrix MOA3600—will be included among the intellectual property up for sale along with design documentation.
