Intelli-Check – Mobilisa to Showcase New Product
Intelli-Check – Mobilisa Inc., a manufacturer of mobile and handheld wireless devices for the government, military and commercial markets, said Wednesday that it will unveil its new IM2700 card reader on Thursday at the American Association of Port Authorities Port Security Seminar and Expo in Houston. Intelli-Check said the device reads the Transportation Worker Identification Credential, or TWIC, which the Department of Homeland Security created in an effort to secure the country's port facilities. All workers will be required to wear the credential by April 15 of next year, Intelli-Check added. The Port Townsend, Wash.-based business noted that its device can scan the information via several methods, including 1-D and 2-D barcodes, a magnetic stripe, smart chip, radio frequency identification or biometrics. The IM2700 also has a built-in PIN and fingerprint-matching feature to further assist with identity verification, Intelli-Check said.
