Venture Deals Total $498.6M In Pacific Northwest
In light of the low venture capital totals reported by two groups for Pacific Northwest companies earlier this week, Northwest Innovation has run an analysis of venture capital deals, as tracked by this publication, finding a significantly higher level of venture investments in the region for Q1 of this year. According to an analysis of Northwest Innovation's venture capital database, there was a total of $498.6M in venture capital investments for Washington State and Oregon for Q1 of 2008. Washington dominated the region in investments with $444.1M in investments for the quarter, with Oregon reporting $53.44M in venture capital dollars. Northwest Innovation's numbers are drawn from company announcements, media reports, and regulatory filings, and also include some private equity investments.
The most active investors in the region included angel group Keiretsu Forum, and Ignition Partners, both with four deals in the quarter; followed by Angel Oregon and WRF Capital with three investments each. Other active investors in Pacific Northwest firms included ARCH Venture Partners, Madrona Venture Group, Maveron, Amgen Ventures, and Versant Ventures.
