Motricity Relocates HQ to Bellevue
Mobile content service provider Motricity announced Tuesday that it has relocated its corporate headquarters from Durham, N.C., to Bellevue, Wash., as part of a strategic reorganization. Motricity's West Coast migration comes on the heels of its late December acquisition of InfoSpace Inc.'s mobile services business, which is based in Bellevue. In addition to office consolidation, Motricity said its strategic plan calls for the elimination of 250 positions during the next nine months. Each laid off employee will be offered a severance package, the company added. Motricity also said it will try to divest itself of all non-profitable and non-core business units, including its direct-to-consumer property, Pocketgear.com.
