Zillow, Other Real Estate Sites Agree On Listings Standard
Yahoo! Real Estate, Zillow.com, and Trulia.com said today that the three online real estate firms have adopted a new, standard data format for distributing real estate listings online. The firms said that the standard will allow real estate franchisors, brokers, multiple listings services and others to distribute their listings data to a number of web sits in a common format. In addition to Yahoo, Zillow, and Trulia, Homes.com, Homescape, Oodle, Point2 Technologies, RealEstate.com, Vast.com, and vFlyer have also adopted the standard, the firms said. The new XML format includes information about addresses, price, square feet, and other information about home listings.
