F5 Networks to Acquire Acopia for $210M

F5 Networks Inc., a developer of application optimization software, announced Monday that it has agreed to acquire file virtualization provider Acopia Networks Inc. for $210 million in cash. F5 estimated the transaction, which is for 100 percent of Acopia's equity, will close on or soon after Sept. 14. F5 said the large, high-growth market that Acopia serves is similar to F5’s existing core market. In acquiring Acopia, F5 said it adds storage solutions and technologies to its portfolio. F5 Networks is headquartered in Seattle.
