InfoSpace to Power French ISP Web Search
InfoSpace Online, a developer of proprietary search technologies and related Web sites, revealed Thursday that it will provide metasearch functionality for French Internet service provider Free SAS. InfoSpace said the inclusion of its technology across Free SAS's portal will enable users to search the Web and receive results from all major search engines, including Google, Yahoo!, MSN and Ask. Free SAS is the first French ISP to implement the company's metasearch technology. Metasearch is a search engine technique that aggregates search results from multiple search engines in a single query. In addition to its metasearch activities, InfoSpace operates search-oriented Web sites and online directories, including Dogpile.com and WebCrawler.com. InfoSpace Online is headquartered in Bellevue, Wash.
