Shelfari Gets Series A Funding
Seattle-based Shelfari, which operates a social networking and media site focused on books, has received a Series A round of funding, the firm said today. The round was led by Amazon.com plus angel investors. The funding will go towards funding the firm's site development, sales and marketing, and general administration. The Seattle Post Intelligencer's John Cook places the size of the round at $1M. Shelfari also announced that it has added Alex Algard of WhitePages.com; Geoff Entress; Brad Feld of Foundry Group; Andy Sack of Judy's Book; and Kelly Smith of Curious Office to its advisory board.
