Widevine Signs Brasil Telecom
Seattle-based Widevine has signed on Brasil Telecom as a customer of its digital content protection technology, the firm said today. Brasil Telecom will use Widevine to protect the firm's IP video service and set-top boxes. Size of the deal was not disclosed. Widevine is venture funded by Cisco, Charter Ventures, Constellation Ventures, Dai Nippon Printing, PaceSetter Capital, Phoenix Capital Partners, TELUS, and VantagePoint.
