RealNetworks Offers Free Films
Seattle-based RealNetworks has started offering free streaming access to full length movies, as part of its relaunch of Film.com. RealNetworks said last night at the Sundance movie festival that it will offer a new "Movie of the Week" that will feature free streaming access to movies along with information, interviews, and more. The new free movie service will be advertising supported, and will come from GreenCine, a independent film company. RealNetworks will launch the feature with "24 Hours on Craigslist", by Director Michael Ferris Gibson. The firm will also be taking submissions from independent filmmakers to be featured as the Movie of the Week program.
