Impulse, Opal Kelly Partner On FPGA Compiler
Kirkland, Washington-based Impulse Accelerated Technologies and Hillsboro, Oregon-based Opal Kelly announced last night that the two companies have partnered on developing a C-to-Hardware compilation system for FPGA modules. The new tools integrate the Impluse C software-to-hardware compiler tools and Opal Kelly's USB-connect FPGA modules. The system is used by hardware designers to translate high level, C-language designs directly into hardware, without the need for implementing low level HDL languages. Opal Kelly is a designer of FPGA modules used for data and image acquisition, signal processing, and scientific computing, based on Xilinx Spartan-3 FPGA technology; Impulse Accelerated Technologies is a provider of tools used to generate FPGA hardware from C language descriptions.
