InfoSpace Adds American Idol to Cingular
Bellevue, Washington-based InfoSpace has inked a deal with Cingular Wireless to bring American Idol songs to ringtones immediately after broadcast of the popular show. InfoSpace said yesterday that it will offer Cingular customer American Idol songs the day after they are performed on the show. The ringtones will feature the songs as sung by the contestants themselves, an expansion of the firm's earlier deal to provide songs featured on the show several months after broadcast. Infospace said that fans of American Idol can download the ringtones via Cingular's MEdia Net service, on Cingular's web site, and through a direct dial code, at a cost of $2.49 per ringtone.
