Hood Joins Geospiza Board
Seattle-based Geospiza, which develops software for managing genetic analysis workflows, said Tuesday that it has named Dr. Leroy Hood to its' board of directors. Hood is President and Co-founder of the Institute for Systems Biology, and well known for inventing the automated DNA sequencer. Hood is a member of the National Academy of Sciences, the American Philosophical Society, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the Institute of Medicine and the National Academy of Engineering, and has been involved in founding 14 biotechnology companies, including Amgen and Applied Biosystems.
