Western Digital Buys Tegile Systems
Irvine-based Western Digital, which seems to be in an acquisitive mood, has acquired Tegile Systems, a developer of flash-based storage for the enterprise data center market. Financial details of the acquisition were not announced by the companies. The acquisition is the second for Western Digital this week. Tegile Systems was based in Newark, California, and was venture backed by August Capital, Meritech Capital, and SanDisk, in addition to Western Digital itself. Western Digital just announced the acquisition of another company, Uphere on Monday.
