Radisys Partners With Mindspeed On Small Cell Design
Hillsboro, Oregon-based Radisys, which develops embedded wireless software and products, has linked with semiconductor maker Mindspeed on an effort to enable small cells. The two said they are working together to showcase eNodeB small cell reference designs. The design is aimed at equipment manufacturers who might want to develop their own small cells, using Mindspeed's hardware and the Radisys Trillium TOTALeNodeB software. Both of the products are being aimed at the emerging wireless small cell market, where telecom carriers are deploying small cell equipment to handle higher demands for 3G and LTE bandwidth, reduce cell site costs, and improve coverage to end subscribers.
