![]() Thursday, January 28, 2010 Amazon Up After Apple's iPad Launch Trading of Seattle-based Amazon was up Thursday morning, opening at $124.46, above the firm's close of $122.75 per share, after Wednesday's much awaited launch of Apple's iPad tablet computing device. Apple's iPad--which has been eyed as a possible "Kindle Killer"--boasts a 9.7-inch display, touch sensitivity, and iPhone OS support. The new tablet also runs all existing Apple iPhone/iPod Touch applications, including Amazon's own Kindle Reader for iPhone application. posted on Thursday, January 28, 2010(Full story) Microsoft Licenses HealthVault To Siemens Microsoft reported early this morning that it is in a licensing agreement with Siemens AG, via Siemsns' IT Solutions and Services Division, to introduce the firm's HealthVault personalized health information service in Germany. Financial terms of the license were not disclosed, however, Microsoft said that Siemens will be the exclusive operator of HealthVault in Germany, and will market the service to developers, application provider, and device manufacturers. The two firm said they will work together on addressing emerging semiconductor technologies such as 3D TSV manufacturing and test. Mulligan is current Senior Vice President, Operations for QLogic, and has also served at Solectron. Microvision said the addition brings its board size to six members.
